It’s not Disney’s fault that all the princesses are adapted arcane fairytales that are inherently sexist. Though they could perhaps find some less sexist stories (such as Mulan?) to adapt. The Princess and the Frog is another dumb sexist tale, but I think they’ve changed it seeing as Disney princesses are quite politically charged these days. I mean, Snow White was made in 1937! and who knows how old the original story is?

Enough! The wording of these is so retardedly awkward and contrived, some of these are sexist but a lot of them aren’t. Ariel wanted more than Prince Eric; she was more interested in the human world, and Eric was the closest she ever came to it. It was more than sexual, it was spiritual, she was being driven mad by her seclusion when when she knew another totally different kind of world existed, she wanted to know what it was like! Eric was a FOOTNOTE. In the original story, she’s more interested in obtaining a christian soul than she is in love, as merpeople’s souls turn into sea foam when they die. The movie was relatively true to this, replacing her hunger for a christian soul with a general hunger for knowledge of a world outside the one she already knew. LEAVE ARIEL ALONE.
